Just a quick entry to let all of our blog-readers know that we are back home in the States. We left Zambia on Wednesday March 18th, after several tearful days of good-byes, and arrived in Minneapolis on the 19th. The trip was long and tiring, but we were relieved to arrive back at home with no mishaps.
It will take some time for us to adjust back to life here and figure out what comes next, but we are grateful for the experience we shared in Zambia and we take comfort in knowing that our six month journey was just the beginning of a story. We are just beginning the many relationships we developed in Zambia, and there is only room for them to grow here on out. The projects we were a part of during our time there are only in beginning stages that will continue to impact people's lives for years to come.

if Zambia's such a great place why did you come back. Wait - don't tell me. The Lord needs you here in the USA. The Lord needs you where it is comfortable, there's not even a hint of malaria, and dengue-fever is something for the horror movies and your Praise the Lawd prayers.
Show some character and relocate to Zambia. It's easy to show "compassion" with a first-world passport. For now anyways. You pathetic happy-clappy born-again losers are making headway into making America into a loser third-world country with your mindless support of rapacious globe-gobbling industrialists masquerading as Jesus-loving, bible-clasping pious people.
Tony Perkins, James Dobson and their crowd of Luddites (and let's not forget Ted "I party with homosexual prostitutes but I love the Lawd" Haggard . .. .bwaaaaaaaahahahahaha) are shills for big money and you mindless automatons back them up in the demonstrably-lunatic belief that at some point a giant invisible vacuum will suck y'all up into the sky where you can live on streets of gold while mere mortals burn in fire.
C'mon, people - show some conviction. Camel? Eye of needle? meet "Christian" who clutches to wealth and comfort in ways that - had jesus really existed - would have him turning on his throne.
Give it up - move to Zambia. Or Nigeria. Darn-it - go the whole way and relocate to Burkina Faso (if you inbred redneck pretend christians even know what that is).
Isn't the Lawd's plan wonderful? Here's a hint - save on the airfares and send the MONEY to Zambia - one of your airfares will build 20 houses and feed 20 children for a year. There's a little psychology here - it's feelings of insecurity mixed with a filthy arrogance that drives you to help people - deep down it makes you feel better - and relieved - that you're not in that position - there's your god right there - your selfish, self-serving belief that you're better than Africans, and that they need your help. And you'd rather have these people file into your churches, cos god loves them too, right? gotta make sure Islam don't get a grip on them huh? It's your job to save them. So as your god hath spaken unto you, go the fuck back to Zambia, maybe you'll catch something and die. oh but wait, that'll be god's will, or something, won't it. so you're good and well covered.
